I have been a gay man for about 20 years now. I came out of the closet around age 19 and lived in that lifestyle until age 40. I got tired of all the games, lies, and destructive sexual acts that I had been a part of. As a result of my reckless behavior, I was diganosed with HIV in June of this year. I could have put a fake name to protect my identity, but I wanted to be honest with myself. I decided to become a Christian in May of 2009 after watching "Left Behind" and I decided to give my life to Christ. I have experienced more peace, love, and understanding now that I have become a Christian. I am not going to judge what I experienced in the gay community because that is not my place. I will say that I was not happy though. I do not feel that Christians "hate" gay people, they disapprove of the lifestyle and the acts that they do. I love everyone as my own and the Christian community has taught me to do that. I am less quick to judge others now that I have become a Christian because I know it's wrong. I do tell other gay men that Jesus loves them and that he died for our sins and our ways. I think that some Christians do get put down more because of others who are judgmental.
