Chris recently blogged about a Puerto Rican teen that was murdered. I ran across the below quoted article by a gay media outlet EDGE Boston (contains offensive material). I can’t seem to find it being reported anywhere else. Google News (at the time of this post) only shows one other blog with this information and they are referring to the same article. All that to say that there isn’t a whole lot of reporting going on with this tragedy but it is an important update on the situation.
Suspect in gay Puerto Rican teenager’s murder found competent to stand trial

A man accused of brutally murdering a gay Puerto Rican teenager has been found competent to stand trial.
Territorial psychologist Rafael Cabrera reported his findings to Judge Miriam Camila Justino during a hearing in Caguas earlier this morning. Local authorities contend Juan José Martínez Matos murdered Jorge Steven López Mercado last November before dumping his decapitated, dismembered and partially burned body along a remote roadside.
“The quest for justice has begun,” Pedro Julio Serrano of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force told EDGE in a text message sent from inside the court house.

This is a joke or what?
Everything that man sow crops, including the murderer, I think it is not an act of compassion to the deceased for being gay but for being a human being, nobody has the right to take life under any conditions but this should not be a legal basis for Awarding a hate crime.
Because happen after what happened in Spain and other countries that have adopted laws Which Diminish Same Sex acquired freedoms including freedom of expression and religion Because it is contradictory to those who think and express that homosexuality is not for God.
Again, not a case of mercy toward the gay community for hate crime, but the soul of his assassination that is just like any human on the face of the earth.
That does not say Pedro Julio … All is vanity of vanities, hate crime, no one defends the freedom of the Christian martyrs in the world to millions.
One can say that there is hatred in abortions, in short, that means this story …
One reason to say that my comment is hatred, forgive or have more mercy and love, I do not think so …
There is no difference between the murderer and homosexual, the two have to repent like you and me.
