From The Exodus Press Office:
Day of Truth Offers Students a Chance to Talk to Peers About Faith & Sexuality
February 23, 2010
Orlando, FL- Christian high school and college students wanting to demonstrate the love of Christ to their peers have a unique opportunity to do so by participating in the Day of Truth. This annual student-led event is dedicated to facilitating dialogue about relationships, sexuality and faith and will be held on April 15.
The Alliance Defense Fund originally launched the Day of Truth in 2005 to give Christian students an opportunity to express their views about such issues in public schools. Since then, more than 13,000 students have participated in the event. In 2009, the organization announced that it would transition the Day of Truth to Exodus International, the largest ministry addressing faith and same-sex attraction in the world today.
The Day of Truth’s theme this year, Get the Conversation Started, is aimed at helping students to knowledgably and compassionately talk to their peers about tough questions about relationships, sexuality and faith. The event now has a new web site, www.dayoftruth.org, and an online survey is available so that students can share their views there as well.
“Students today have more questions than ever about life, relationships, sexuality and God,” said Jeff Buchanan, who oversees the Day of Truth for Exodus International. “I wrestled with these questions as a young man struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction and found that God not only had answers, but could change my heart and my life. We hope Christian students across the country will take advantage of this opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ to peers who may be in a similar situation looking for answers.”

Hear what others have said about the Day of Truth:
“One girl in particular asked me if it was hard because I have a friend that is a lesbian. I told her that “yes” it is hard, but I’m not going to give up on her. I think that God has so many awesome plans for that girl and for the rest of us. The Day of Truth is something that is so awesome!” – A high school freshman in Arizona
“I was so glad to hear about the Day of Truth. My daughter is a freshman.. and we have both been in shock that the school counselor would promote a club to encourage gay lifestyles. We need to pray for these kids and people encouraging this sinful and deadly lifestyle and give our kids a voice to proclaim the truth.” – Pam, a parent
“I still disagree with your views, and I always will. However, you’ve expressed your views in a polite and forthright manner, without being confrontational, and I wanted to tell you that I very much appreciate that.” – An adult who does not support Exodus International’s views on homosexuality
