It’s hard to believe we have had this blog, and complementary Facebook page, for a full year as of today! I am very glad to see this blog succeed.
We had one serious attempt to have a ministry blog in the past that just didn’t quite work. So with lessons learned and the advent of social networking … this blog took off right out of the gate!
While I don’t know that our blog will *ever* be a top dog blog like Instapundit (who knows really?
) we don’t do this for “the numbers.” Regardless, I am a stats-a-holic so here are some statistical tidbits that those who do read this blog might find interesting:
This will be the 302nd post.
There have been 1,918 comments approved so far on this blog; 10,817,904 not approved. Ok the first number in the previous sentence is accurate the second number I made up. We get a lot of negative comments.
And here are the Top Ten Web Traffic Posts for the past 365 days:
10. Rachel Maddow vs. Richard Cohen – Interview Review & Missing the Point About Uganda
9. Liberty Counsel Responds to Crass Quote Attributed to Matt Barber
7. Gayle Haggard Releases Memoir titled “Why I Stayed” – Interview with Renee Dallas
6. Statement from Alan Chambers Regarding Exodus and Dawson McAllister
5. Pastor Taken Off YouTube For Message Against Homosexuality
4. Suspect in Puerto Rican Teen’s Murder Competent to Stand Trial
3. Responding to Jennifer Knapp’s “Coming Out”
2. Alan Medinger Goes Home to Heaven – Leaves An Amazing Legacy
And the post with the highest number of web visits …
1. God’s Grace for George Rekers and Jo-Vanni Roman
Some honorable mentions to round out the top 15 are
Exodus International Sends Letter Opposing Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill … Are You Happier Now Than When You Were Gay? … A Changed Life, A Changed Man – Testimony of Mike Goeke … Gay Father + Christian Son = “Reconciliation” The Movie … Dispelling the myths about OneByOne and Exodus International
I do look at the web traffic pretty much every day so the top three really didn’t surprise me at all. The traffic for those flooded in and just stayed strong for quite a while. What did slightly surprise me is that only two, of our many blog posts concerning the odious Ugandan bill (we *never* supported it, reports to the contrary are lies) made the top 15 and only one made the top 10 coming in at number 10.
Hmm…
I enjoy blogging period but my favorite posts are the testimonies and responding to questions sent via facebook. And I have to say that Julie’s post Big Foot, Nessie and Exodus International has got to be one of my favorite titles
(followed by the best writing ever!)
Julie is my editing hero.
