Homosexuality and Your Church Part Two by Thom Hunter

Back on November 10,2009 we posted Homosexuality and your Church by Thom Hunter.  That post became one of our most trafficked posts from last year.  Here is the second part of Thom's message to the church (originally posted on SBC Voices Blog and posted here with permission.) ***BEGIN*** Homosexuaity and Your Church Part Two by Thom Hunter Whether you know it or not, members of your church are ministering to Christians who struggle with homosexuality. Like the struggle itself, their ministry to those who suffer may be hidden, but it goes on, fueled by love. They are parents, … [Read more...]

Follow Up Audio Post of Janet Boynes’ Testimony

Last month I posted about the fantastic testimony of Janet Boynes and was recently reminded that she gave her testimony at last year's Exodus Freedom Conference and we had the MP3 available so... without further ado ... click here to listen to Janet share her testimony. … [Read more...]

Former Lesbian Lisa Miller Disappears with Daughter (CNN Video)

Such a tragic case, for all involved.  I don't know much of the details beyond what is being reported in the news (of what is happening right now) so I will simply post the video and keep Lisa, Isabella and Lisa's former partner Janet Jenkins, in prayer. I am not planning a follow up post at the moment but that could change after some more meditation on the topic. There are a lot of "issues" involved here. It's complicated and again tragic. All comments, while still moderated, are welcome and encouraged. … [Read more...]

New York Times Picks Up Uganda Story

The New York Times quotes Exodus Board Member Don Schmierer: The three Americans who spoke at the conference — Scott Lively, a missionary who has written several books against homosexuality, including “7 Steps to Recruit-Proof Your Child”; Caleb Lee Brundidge, a self-described former gay man who leads “healing seminars”; and Don Schmierer, a board member of Exodus International, whose mission is “mobilizing the body of Christ to minister grace and truth to a world impacted by homosexuality” — are now trying to distance themselves from the bill. “I feel duped,” Mr. … [Read more...]

Year End Top Ten Posts for 2009

I started working for Exodus in 2002.  We started a couple of different blogs since then but never really found our stride.  We decided to give it a go again on August 6 of this year and ... well... we have definitely hit our stride.  We have gotten nothing but positive feedback and encouragement. Other blogs that I follow will do various top ten lists based on their stats for the year.  While we have only been around for 4 months I thought it would be interesting to do some some stat driven interesting tidbits to highlight various posts from this year. … [Read more...]

After Thoughts, Before Christmas

thepassion

Well, this caused a stir. :) Here are a few after-thoughts on the whole situation. First, let me say that I truly respect Mat Staver and the Liberty Counsel. I have had many good conversations with Mr. Staver as well as those that work with him over the years. Staver has always shown respect and kindness to Exodus and it bothers me that his organization has been indirectly affected by this. Second, it is also true that I have had great discussions with both Peter LaBarbera and Matt Barber as well. I have challenged and been challenged by them. That said, I obviously won't tolerate … [Read more...]

Liberty Counsel Responds to Crass Quote Attributed to Matt Barber

[Liberty-Counsel-Crest-Color

WARNING: Graphic Description in Quote Below Yesterday I posted, "CPAC, Conservatism and the Compassion of Christ" in response to a very disturbing quote Peter LaBarbera attributed to Matt Barber.  LaBarbera, in the context of a much larger post, writes: What is conservatism? It boils down to this: there is nothing “conservative” about — as Barber inimitably puts it — “one man violently cramming his penis into another man’s lower intestine and calling it ‘love.’” Or two women awkwardly mimicking natural procreative relations or raising a child together in an … [Read more...]
