New Book “Naked Surrender” by Andy Comiskey

naked surrender

Today I want to post an interview I did via email with Andy Comiskey about his new book titled "Naked Surrender."  I have posted the interview exactly as it happened.  There has been very little editing (spelling, formatting.)  Also, all emphasis (bold and italics are mine.  Without further ado :) ... First of all, congratulations on your new book.  The provocative title is "Naked Surrender: coming home to our true sexuality." When you say "Naked Surrender" is that both literal and figurative?  What does it mean to "come home" to our true sexuality? Andy: 'Naked surrender' refers … [Read more...]

Perez Hilton Seeks to End His Own Bullying Tactics

perez and ellen

Wow. I love the insight that Ellen gives and completely agree, we can't expect kids to not be bullies when our culture encourages, rewards and participates in bullying all across the spectrum. Have you watched reality TV? ... cable news and radio pundits? ... blogs? Have you noticed among adults in general that incivility is now a common default in much of our culture? Bullying can be found in the name calling, very real polarizing pressure based on lies/mischaracterizations at another's expense. Bullying manifests in stigmatizing, dehumanizing and creating a scapegoat in others so … [Read more...]

God Is Not An Enabler

learning to ride a bike

God is Not an Enabler Mike Goeke, September 2010 “God is love.” This statement, which is indeed Biblical, constituted a friend’s rationalization for his decision to leave his family and pursue a life defined by both direct sinful behavior and a general pursuit of what he claimed made him happy and satisfied in life. “I believe God loves all His children,” he told me. I had to agree with him, but as I mulled over his comments to me I realized that for my friend, ‘love’ meant that God cared nothing about his behavior or how he lived his life. To him, God was a sentimental … [Read more...]

Happy 1st Blog/Facebook Birthday Exodus!

firstbirthday

It's hard to believe we have had this blog, and complementary Facebook page, for a full year as of today! I am very glad to see this blog succeed. We had one serious attempt to have a ministry blog in the past that just didn't quite work.  So with lessons learned and the advent of social networking ... this blog took off right out of the gate! While I don't know that our blog will *ever* be a top dog blog like Instapundit (who knows really? :) ) we don't do this for "the numbers."  Regardless, I am a stats-a-holic so here are some statistical tidbits that those who do read this blog might … [Read more...]

TIME Covers Disney Gay Days

Photo: TIME, Click Image to read "Gay Days In The Magic Kingdom"

From TIME's Gay Days In The Magic Kingdom: Like pretty much every child who walks up Main Street U.S.A. at Disney World for the first time, Alix, 10, and her brother Evan, 11, can barely contain their anticipation. Evan wants to ride Space Mountain. Alix is so excited, she can't even say what she wants to do. She is jumping up and down. It's a typical Disney scene, except that Evan, Alix and their sister Jamie, a desultory 4-year-old shielded from the sun in a stroller, have come to the Magic Kingdom with their two moms. It is the 20th anniversary of Gay Days at Disney, and the whole family … [Read more...]

Follow Up Interview with Bradlee Dean

bradlee

Last week I posted about Bradlee Dean's controversial radio program where it seemed he was praising Muslim countries for how they handled the issue of homosexuality. He called me first thing the very next day. He shared his heart and agreed to do a follow up interview via email.  I promised him that I would publish his answers unedited. There were a total of five rounds of questions and an opportunity to share whatever else he wanted to share.  To date he has sent me responses to the first four rounds of questions and I will update this post with the final round of questions and his … [Read more...]

Responding to Jennifer Knapp’s “Coming Out”

Click to visit JenniferKnapp.com

As you all are probably aware, Jennifer Knapp stated last week that she has embraced her same sex attraction and is now identifying as gay.  She has done a number of interviews including this one with Christian Today.  From the article (Parenthesis mine): Now, the finished product (her new album), titled Letting Go, is slated for a May 11 release and will be the first test of her fans’ loyalty given confirmation of her sexuality. While the decision to "come out" one month before her new album’s release is a risky one, The Advocate said Knapp chose to do so partly because she … [Read more...]

Karl Lagerfeld’s Discusses Gay Public Policy, AIDS History & Porn

Self-portrait by Karl Lagerfeld

No commentary here, I will just let Lagerfeld speak for himself (bolded text is the Vice Magazine reporter, answers of course are Lagerfeld): You are against the idea of gay marriage. I totally agree with you on that. Yes, I’m against it for a very simple reason: In the 60s they all said we had the right to the difference. And now, suddenly, they want a bourgeois life. It’s normalizing. For me it’s difficult to imagine—one of the papas at work and the other at home with the baby. How would that be for the baby? I don’t know. I see more lesbians married with babies than I … [Read more...]
