Episcopalians Elect Lesbian Bishop – Gracious Restraint Fails True Leadership

mary2

The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles elected the Reverend Mary D. Glasspool of Baltimore as an assistant bishop. She is expected to be consecrated as bishop on May 15 in Los Angeles. This comes during a time frame that Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has said is a season of "gracious restraint" on both sides of the gay debate. Please read the whole of Albert Mohler's blog post on the matter.  I will post the conclusion here and add more thoughts afterword. Mohler concludes: Here is a great lesson: We cannot reduce a question of truth to a question of process. The real … [Read more...]

The Other End of the Spectrum – From Uganda to Kevin Jennings

Kevin Jennings is a militant gay activist who says that there is no more debate when it comes to the school system.  You either accept liberal pro-gay ideology or shut up and move out of the way. “Ex-gay messages have no place in our nation’s public schools. A line has been drawn. There is no ‘other side’ when you’re talking about lesbian, gay and bisexual students.” Jennings is being raked over the coals for the second time this year as conservative bloggers are picking up his "reading list" suggestions for schools.  Their posts are disturbing (seriously ... you have been … [Read more...]

Gay Men Publicly Abused and Humiliated in Pakistan

gay pakistanis flogged

The following was originally posted on LiveLeak.com.  This is the text posted with the video: Homosexuals Pakistanis recieving their punishment. You can see two lovers kiss at 0:15 before their flogging. Of course I am trusting that the description is actually what is happening. WARNING: the flogging is very disturbing and difficult to view. As horrible as what is happening here is, the Ugandan's face similar or much worse if their "anti-homosexual" bill passes. Also, I highly recommend that if you go to the link above ( to LiveLeak) ... don't waste your time reading the comments. … [Read more...]

Canadian Decision Protects Freedom of Speech For Religious Views

Freespeech

From The Canadian Press: EDMONTON - A Court of Queen's Bench judge has ruled an anti-gay letter written by a former Alberta pastor in 2002 was not a hate crime and is allowed under freedom of speech. Justice E.C. Wilson overturned a 2008 ruling by the Alberta Human Rights Commission that the letter by Stephen Boissoin that was published in the Red Deer Advocate broke provincial law. At the time, the commission said it may even have played a role in the beating of a gay teenager two weeks after it was published. The commission had ordered Boissoin to refrain from making disparaging … [Read more...]

Mainstream Mixed Signals – Adam Lambert

adamsmall

I  actually like Adam's Lambert's singing.  Especially most (not all ... like when the rock group KISS joined him on stage for the AI finale) of his performances on American Idol.  I don't like the pseudo sexual acts, the dangerous spikey things on his costumes (Star Trek Borg anyone?) and the weird seductive vibe he tries to give off but when he gets into the honest core of his singing ability ... I think he has an amazing gift. He could be a fantastic singer.  I bet my fbff (facebook friends forever) count just dropped a few. Even so, it wasn't his singing that ruined his … [Read more...]

Rachel Maddow, Uganda & Me – Guest Post By Don Schmierer

Rachel Maddow, Uganda & Me - By: Don Schmierer Never in a million years did I expect to see my face on MSNBC. But there I was, plain as day - white hair, tanned wrinkles, looking every bit the grandfather I am- in a photo posted on Rachel Maddow's show last night. Unbeknownst to me, she had decided to discuss a conference I spoke at in Uganda several months ago. As Ms. Maddow accurately recounted, I did go to Uganda last spring to speak at a conference about my book, An Ounce of Prevention: Preventing the Homosexual Condition in Today's Youth. In fact, I've been to Uganda many times … [Read more...]

Cardinal Barragan’s Remarks about Transsexuals, Homosexuals and Heaven is Not The Whole Story

vatican framed

The religious discussion over homosexuality needs to be clear and balanced with the whole of scripture.  Soundbites do not do the topic justice.  Here is an example. Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragan said that while the Church regarded homosexuality as an "insult to God", this did not justify discrimination against gay and transsexual people. "Transsexuals and homosexuals will never enter the kingdom of heaven and it is not me who says this, but Saint Paul," the cardinal said, in comments reported by the Ansa news agency. "People are not born homosexual, they become homosexual, for … [Read more...]

A Changed Life, A Changed Man – Testimony of Mike Goeke

Also posted on the main Exodus website *** My dad was a loving leader, Spiritual and otherwise, of our family. My parents were equally active in the lives of both my brother and me. I experienced no sexual, emotional or physical abuse. While I know now that my family had its own issues, there were none of the ‘red flags’ often associated with homosexuality. Yet, in the midst of my very typical middle class family existence, I developed an early attraction for men. I was sensitive, insecure and artistic, and the other boys treated me differently and made fun of me. I was called a … [Read more...]

Don Schmierer Added to Letter Opposing Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Bill

Don Schmierer has traveled all around the world and been to Uganda several times including this past spring. He just recently came back home after a few weeks of traveling and saw our email inviting him to sign the letter we sent asking Ugandan President to oppose the anti-homosexuality bill being presented there. Don's response was, "Yes, you can include my name in this very well written letter." We went ahead and sent the letter November 16th because we felt the timing was right to do so but are very happy to add Don's name to the document today. A little more about Don, Don is the … [Read more...]
