Pastor Taken Off YouTube For Message Against Homosexuality

Pastor Taken Off YouTube

Guest Post by McKrae Game of Truth Ministry: Pastor Taken Off YouTube For Message Against Homosexuality What will hate crimes mean to the church? By McKrae Game Dr. David Manning recently had a video of a sermon he preached on homosexuality pulled off of YouTube. According to Manning*, YouTube cited the recently signed Hate Crimes legislation as their reason for pulling the sermon; they had always allowed his previous sermons. I did not see the pastor’s original sermon; however his video explaining his outrage at the situation was very strongly worded and full of … [Read more...]

Orlando Shootings – Exodus Staff Safe But Urgent Prayer Requests

Exodus International

Dear Friends, Had a couple of people text, message and email me worried about the safety of the Exodus staff.  Rest assured, we are all personally safe.  Many of us are traveling to Birmingham today for the Love Won Out conference.  As you know we are headquartered here in Orlando but our office is actually several miles away. The gunman, as of this initial post is on the run so who knows where that will lead but thank you for your concern. We are ok. That said, we have several churches in that area and we have one friend who does actually work in the office building.  We also … [Read more...]

What’s Good About Sex?

What's Good About Sex?

Excellent article over at the Focus website: ... Although there is plenty of bad in the contemporary sexual scene, it's clear that we're forgetting something. The only way to get something bad is to take something good and spoil it. Whenever you find a bad thing, look for a good thing somewhere in the ruins. The idea that sex is inherently bad doesn't come from the Bible. It comes from ancient gnosticism, which taught that the Creator wasn't God, but a lesser being who made a botch of things. Gnostics thought spirits good, bodies bad, and sex just a matter of bodies. But the Bible calls … [Read more...]

Love Won Out Birmingham to Be Protested – Opportunity for More Prayer

From CitizenLink: Metro Church of God in Birmingham, Ala., will host the Love Won Out Conference on Nov. 7. It's the last Love Won Out event for Focus on the Family, which will turn the conference over to Exodus International in December. Gay activists are planning to protest.  Wayne Besen, founder of Truth Wins Out, claimed the sessions teach parents to "hate" their children. "Love Won Out tells young people and their families that they aren't whole and that they should and can change – which isn't true," he said. But Joe Dallas, pastoral counselor, founder of Genesis Counseling in … [Read more...]

Is Truth Really Plural? Postmodernism in Full Flower

Mohler Postmodern

Albert Mohler has an excellent blog post titled Is Truth Really Plural? Postmodernism in Full Flower. The main point of the post is a book review of John R. Franke's (a "major figure" of the emergent movement) Manifold Witness - The Plurality of Truth.  Here is the introduction: The question of truth stands at the very center of the postmodern challenge. As with any major shift in human thinking, postmodernism comes packaged with both positive and negative elements. Positively, the general worldview of postmodernism reminds us that we are deeply embedded in cultural and linguistic systems … [Read more...]

Why the Exodus Church Association?

Exodus Church Association

The topic of homosexuality is no longer a topic that exists on the fringe of our society, but rather it has become one of the most polarizing issues in our culture and churches today. The increased accessibility of information, in this technological era, presents us with many differing viewpoints ranging from unloving condemnation to blind acceptance intolerant of any opposition. With so many arguments and opinions, how are we to make sense of it all and how are we to respond in biblical grace and truth to the many that have been affected by homosexuality? For over 30 years, Exodus … [Read more...]

Martin Ssempa Should Renounce Support for Proposed Ugandan Criminalization of Homosexuality

From Dr. Throckmorton (posted with permission): STATEMENT FROM PASTOR RICK & KAY WARREN REGARDING ACTIVITIES OF MARTIN SSEMPA IN UGANDA Martin Ssempa does not represent me, my wife Kay, Saddleback Church, nor the Global PEACE Plan strategy. In 2007, we completely severed contact with Mr. Ssempa  when we learned that his views and actions were in serious conflict with our own. Our role, and the role of the PEACE Plan, whether in Uganda or any other country, is always pastoral and never political. We vigorously oppose anything that hinders the goals of the PEACE Plan: Promoting … [Read more...]

Can Someone Change Without Jesus?

Redcross

A question came up at a recent conference that I wanted to try and answer here as well.  We did a Q & A where people submitted index cards for our panel and this one read: Have you ever seen someone come out of the lifestyle without Christ? Believe it or not, that one question has three layers to it :) .  The first layer is the "have you ever seen ..." and yes, I have met people who have begun a Jewish post-gay journey or a non-religious but not pro-gay ideological post-gay journey. I have also met Christians who kind of divorce this issue from their faith because they are more … [Read more...]
