The Gospel And Elton John

elton john

I've seen many gay protesters over the years hold up signs that say, "What Jesus said about homosexuality is _______." Thus inferring that He never said anything about being gay.  Not all, but a few of those same folks who seem to want to make facts out of thin air (arguing from silence in a negative sense) would probably believe, like Elton John, that Jesus was gay Himself.  From Parade.com: "I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don't … [Read more...]

“Bromances” Gone Wild – Boundless Seeking Input

question mark-1

Ted Slater with Boundless, who is a great guy by the way, posts: So I've heard the same thing from two different people in two different states. The guys in their class or singles group seem overly affectionate with each other, sometimes even feigning homosexual interest. A few weeks ago I may have seen a hint of this at church: A high school guy, whom I don't believe experiences same-sex attraction, was acting peculiarly effeminate in his interactions with the guys in the worship band during practice. He was light-hearted about it; I'm just not sure why he'd joke about something … [Read more...]

Gay Activist “Good As You: G-A-Y” Blog Asserts A Measure of Civility

G-A-Y Shadow

It's very interesting that G-A-Y blog extended a brief measure of commendation a couple of months ago about a post I did concerning Matt Barber's crass quote, SoulForce (another gay activist group) agreed with us about Uganda last week and today G-A-Y has a few benevolent things to say about Alan.  They state: Alan Chambers is clearly a smart and passionate man. He also comes across like a decent person who sees many flaws within the frequently overheated "pro-family" movement, and, to his credit (one that's reserved for few in the professional anti-LGBT world), Alan is somewhat willing … [Read more...]

On Singleness, The Day After Valentines Day

love-1

I used to hate Valentines Day during the first few years of my post-gay journey. I used to joke about going Cupid Hunting.  The anger present back then is long gone but I still like making fun of February 14th being "Open Cupid Hunting Season." A couple of years ago I had funny little tweets of hunting him down throughout the day. As sappy as this might sound, it is a day I to try to take some time and consider "The Lover of my Soul." His love is meant, and more than sufficient, to sustain those of us who are not married. And that means all of us at some point in lives are meant … [Read more...]

Message from And Responding to a “Happy Lesbian”

happylesbian

If you look at the comment counts on our blog you would think that we only get a few sporadic ones from time to time with sudden bursts here and there.  Not true. We get a lot actually. The problem is that most of them involve some new way for me to burn in hell. So because of our Comment Policy, a vast majority of those comments never make it through.  This blog won't be hijacked by that type of ... discussion. However, today it seemed a good idea to turn one comment we received overnight into an actual post.  The person who left the comment used a fake email and the alias "Happy … [Read more...]

“Setting The Record Straight” on Love In Action

Frank

My friend Frank, aka Agent SoapBox (grin), wrote about his experience and the live-in program Love In Action (LIA).  Most of what you read about LIA online is very negative but over the years I have met quite a few people who found the program to  be very helpful.  Frank shares about the first night he arrived: That night, I arrived at the house I was staying in, we sat at the dinner table, shared some praises and prayer about our day and bonded. I went to my bed and fell soundly asleep. It had been about 30 some hours I had been awake in total so I was dead tired. But before I fell … [Read more...]

Soulforce Agrees With Exodus About Uganda

Soulforce, a gay activist group, describe themselves as: ... guided by the spirit of truth and empowered by the principles of relentless nonviolent resistance, works to end the religious and political oppression of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning people. They haven't been our biggest fans, by far, over the years. Yet, in an Open Letter to Jan and Paul Crouch (TBN) by Soulforce Founder Mel White, on February 5th,  stated: It isn’t just the “liberal media” who are condemning the bill. In mid-November, Exodus International, the ministry that promises to … [Read more...]
