Living Water: Labels from The Well on Vimeo. From The Well's vimeo page containing this video: Kristin Tremba struggled with gender identity and same sex attraction throughout the early years of her life. She experienced emotional intimacy with a good friend during college and through those feelings she concluded that she was gay. However, she didn’t want to take on that gay identity and kept her struggles silent. In her late 20’s, she began to fear that she would never marry a man and have a family. She lacked the trust that God would provide for her future and fell into an emotionally … [Read more...]
CNN Belief Blog Interviews Alan Chambers About Prop 8 and Gay Rights

From ‘Ex-gay’ ministry on gay marriage's chances after Prop 8 ruling ... “It’s disappointing that a judge would rule against the will of the people,” says Chambers, author of Leaving Homosexuality. “That’s the greatest tragedy.” For 34 years, Exodus has told gay and lesbians that they can be “delivered” from homosexuality through faith in Christ, professional counseling and support groups. But how will groups like Exodus fare if fewer Americans believe that homosexuality is a sin, and if gay marriage becomes an option? Chambers acknowledged that “our culture is changing” … [Read more...]
What Is The Gospel Response to Prop. 8? – Christianity Today Quotes Alan Chambers

From What Is The Gospel Response to Prop. 8? : Alan Chambers, president of Exodus International: I believe that God is calling his church to a place far above the arguments surrounding what is sin and what isn't. We cannot avoid the glaring scriptural truth that there is, and will always be, a right way and a wrong way concerning just about everything we can imagine. And, yet, I believe that our attitudes towards people (internal and external) are just as important as our positions on the issues at hand. So, when I first saw the news that Prop. 8 had been overturned, my very first thought was, … [Read more...]

Dear Gay/Porn Forum User

Yesterday's post on the disenfranchisement of Christian therapists and clients from professional counseling had a surprising source of linkage that drove a decent amount of traffic to the blog. The sources of the links: Two gay/porn sites. And I think it comes as no surprise I won't be linking back to them. :) I didn't investigate them to figure out what the purpose of these sites were or what is being said but given the URL of the addresses it was kind of obvious what the overall sites are about. So ... sincerely ... welcome! I can't quite figure out why yesterday's post would be … [Read more...]
Reflections On The Exodus Freedom Conference

Thom Hunter has a very inspiring post concerning his experience at the Exodus Freedom Conference a couple of weeks ago. Here is an excerpt from his blog post (linkage mine.): I wish every pastor in the country -- make that the world -- could hear Joe Dallas explain the differences between homosexual orientation . . . identity . . . and behavior. Orientation being involuntary, discovered. Behavior being what we do with that discovery via our free will. Identity sometimes foisted on us, sometimes embraced, but not who we really are. Not in God's created intent, but only in our fallen nature. Say … [Read more...]

Today we are featured in Charisma Magazine, California Catholic Daily and CitizenLink. Also, I haven't found the link of a television interview Jeff Buchanan did with CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network.) About John Paulk – A Brief Response To Rev. Cheng On The Huffington Post

I read a blog post the other day by a Rev. Patrick Cheng PhD, for The Huffington Post. He basically said that ex-gays were going to hell and really, really deserved it. I never tell anyone they are going to hell. It wasn't the fear of hell that saved me. It was the kindness, mercy and love of God that led me to repentance. In the years I spent as a gay-identified man I didn't appreciate Christians telling me to "flip or fry." Today as an ex-gay man I still don't appreciate being told I deserve hell especially by a theologian who is selective about his tolerance, not to mention his interpretation … [Read more...]
An Encouraging Flashback – Bob Davies In Christianity Today

I was digging around the Christianity Today website and found the article Ex-gay Sheds The Mocking Quote Marks which is an article featuring former Exodus President Bob Davies. Here are some excerpts (Published on 1/7/2002) : ... After 22 years, I've been aware for a while that I was ready for a change. I loved it, and this has been the most exciting, fulfilling time in my life. But as I prayed about it, I got an impression or a message from the Lord, and it was a message of two words: "Finish well." I thought, Okay, what does that mean? Am I going to be dying of cancer in the next couple … [Read more...]
Exodus Featured in Upcoming Pentecostal Evangel Magazine

On June 27, 2010, Pentecostal Evangel will feature the testimony of Lois DeLong in Kentucky and also has some input from Alan Chambers: ...Exodus International (is) a network of 235 ministries in North American and 50 other affiliates around the world. Its U.S. affiliates included 130 members of the Exodus Church Association which has 14 AG congregations as representatives. by contrast, there are thousands of pro-homosexual organizations.
