New Book “Naked Surrender” by Andy Comiskey

naked surrender

Today I want to post an interview I did via email with Andy Comiskey about his new book titled "Naked Surrender."  I have posted the interview exactly as it happened.  There has been very little editing (spelling, formatting.)  Also, all emphasis (bold and italics are mine.  Without further ado :) ... When you say "Naked Surrender" is that both literal and figurative?  What does it mean to "come home" to our true sexuality? Andy: 'Naked surrender' refers … [Read more...]

Mohler has a very thought provoking article up today.  Below are the opening few paragraphs of  NewsNote: Masculinity in a Can, Fight Club at Church, and the Crisis of Manhood: You do not have to look far to find evidence of the fact that males are in trouble in these confused and confusing times. A frightening percentage of young males are or have been behind bars, and the vast majority of young men are delaying their assumption of adult roles and responsibilities until well … [Read more...]

The Manhattan Declaration on Marriage

Manhattan Declaration

Last week 152 Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical leaders issued the Manhattan Declaration that makes a commitment to speak to issues of Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty (link to file download at the end of the post.)  The authors did a very good job of explaining their positions and intentions within the manifesto. For the purposes of this post I am quoting the section on marriage. I am interested in your feedback.  That said, the bolded emphasis in parts of this quote are mine to highlight what stood out to me. Sidenote: As far as I know, Alan Chambers wasn't aware of the … [Read more...]

Honoring Marriage – Interview with Andy Comiskey and Jason Thompson

honoring marriage

Andy Comiskey of Desert Streams Ministry is starting a 40 day fast to pray and meditate on the issue of Biblical marriage. Last year, Andy maintained a blog for 40 days prior to the Prop 8 marriage vote in California. This resulted in a booklet and for this fall's follow up effort of prayer and fasting in the face of more upcoming marriage battles. In Exodus, we have three networks of over 230 member agencies. While it is fair to assume that all of these agencies (Member Ministries, Counselors and Churches) hold to a Biblical view of marriage being between one man and one woman for a … [Read more...]
