Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Jesus Is The Reason For The Season

All of us at Exodus wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!  We pray you have a blessed time with family and friends as you celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also pray that as you consider His ministry and Atonement, you will find a deeper freedom to receive His love in greater measure.  For it is in His love that we rise above earthly constraints and find contentment regardless of our circumstances. In Jesus, joy and peace reign. May you know His joy and peace this Christmas and New Years! --- We will return to active blogging January 4th 2011 :). … [Read more...]

Let World AIDS Day Inspire and Inform

Photo Credit: The Guardian (click image to visit)

Today is world AIDS day. It is a day set aside to raise awareness of this terrible pandemic. It isn't simply a day where we remember the deadly toll AIDS has had on our generation.  It is also a day to highlight resources, ministries and efforts to prevent and find a cure. Regardless of whether you identify as one of the letters in GLBTQI, as an "ex-gay" or as a Christian on a post-gay journey, we all have known too many people who have died of AIDS and/or currently have loved ones and friends living with HIV/AIDS. I picked the picture for this post from the Guardian because it speaks … [Read more...]

Where O’ Where? Feedback Request

blog blog blog blog

Hello Friends.  Just wanted to give you a heads up that the Exodus Blog is not on hiatus.  We are in our annual staff/management retreat season where we evaluate the past year and work on the vision, strategy and goals for next year. *Great* stuff so far.  And I am not just saying that because that is what you would normally expect someone on staff to say :). That said we haven't posted much here lately but expect that to increase.  I have multiple ideas for posts but am always interested to know what you would like to see blogged here.  Let us know in the comments below. Thanks! … [Read more...]

Happy 1st Blog/Facebook Birthday Exodus!

firstbirthday

It's hard to believe we have had this blog, and complementary Facebook page, for a full year as of today! I am very glad to see this blog succeed. We had one serious attempt to have a ministry blog in the past that just didn't quite work.  So with lessons learned and the advent of social networking ... this blog took off right out of the gate! While I don't know that our blog will *ever* be a top dog blog like Instapundit (who knows really? :) ) we don't do this for "the numbers."  Regardless, I am a stats-a-holic so here are some statistical tidbits that those who do read this blog might … [Read more...]

Alan Medinger Goes Home to Heaven – Leaves An Amazing Legacy

Medingerowie_320px

This morning many of the Exodus staff came home from the Freedom Conference to the difficult news that one of our beloved leaders and pioneers in the Exodus movement, Alan Medinger, has passed away.  From Josh Glaser, Executive Director of Regeneration: Alan Medinger, Founder - Home Rejoicing, June 28th, 2010 Dear Friends, It is with great sadness we share with you that Regeneration's founder, Alan Medinger, passed away this morning, Monday, June 28th. Alan started Regeneration over three decades ago, and in the years that followed, he and his dear wife, Willa, were like a father and … [Read more...]

Friday Miscellaney

Here are just a few links to various articles of interest around the web: Tony Moore is blogging! :) Andy is dunking the river goddess (poignant story about his trip to Thailand.) Peter posts about the appointment of a second Gay Episcopal Bishop. Alan asks, "What's Your Abomination?" <-- the most "shared" (facebook) post we have had since we started the blog. It seems to have struck a chord. And don't forget about Day of Truth coming up next month and the Exodus Freedom Conference is only three months away! Have a great and blessed weekend everybody. … [Read more...]

Prayer Request for Love Won Out San Diego

Conference organizers amaze me.  All the details, logistics, care, hard work, preparation, crunch time, running the event itself... astounding.  How blessed are we that God has created wonderful souls who can do this type of ministry?  My respect for David Fountain, Leslie Chambers and Karen Eaglin is already deep but to watch them in action is a beautiful thing. This Saturday is our Love Won Out (LWO) event in San Diego so it is crunch time in "pulling it all together."  During our daily morning prayer time we spent extra time lifting up every aspect of Love Won Out to the Lord.  We … [Read more...]

That Didn’t Take Long … Moving From WordPress.com to Self-hosted Blog

We had to move the blog from the wordpress.com site because this gives us more freedom to style and tweak the blog in a way that provides more options/services to our readers.  Plus it makes sense to have the organizational blog under the the umbrella of our organizational URL ( http://blog.exodusinternational.org ) That said, we are still working on the blog in several ways. One is developing a special page that will list all of our Member Agencies across North America.  We will also be tweaking the style of the blog to make it ... prettier :).  Also, I have noticed that the reply … [Read more...]
