TIME Covers Disney Gay Days

From TIME's Gay Days In The Magic Kingdom: Like pretty much every child who walks up Main Street U.S.A. at Disney World for the first time, Alix, 10, and her brother Evan, 11, can barely contain their anticipation. Evan wants to ride Space Mountain. Alix is so excited, she can't even say what she wants to do. She is jumping up and down. It's a typical Disney scene, except that Evan, Alix and their sister Jamie, a desultory 4-year-old shielded from the sun in a stroller, have come to the Magic Kingdom with their two moms. It is the 20th anniversary of Gay Days at Disney, and the whole family … [Read more...]

“Reconciliation” – A Movie That Will Challenge And Touch Your Heart

Reconciliation the Movie

RECONCILIATION trailer from Chad Ahrendt on Vimeo. In a previous post, Gay Father + Christian Son = Reconciliation, I mentioned and showed the trailer for "Reconciliaiton."  I was excited that a movie coming from a redemptive Christian perspective was being made and looked forward to viewing it. The Director, Chad Ahrendt, sent a "screening" copy because I wasn't in Los Angeles to catch the premiere.  However, one of our leaders in the area, Carol Wagstaff with Living Stones Ministries, went and she emailed and left a voicemail very excited about the movie.  She said that it was very … [Read more...]

Paul Webster Visits Passion For Christ Movement in Los Angeles

p4cm

For those that don't know yet, Paul Webster joined the Exodus staff a couple of months ago as our Director of Ministry Advancement. We are very blessed to have him join our team. Paul and his wife Susan live in Southern California and decided to visit the Passion for Christ Movement (P4CM) Church in Los Angeles.  Here is an account of their visit: Sunday worship was spent visiting a vibrant young church in Los Angeles called the Passion for Christ Movement. This burgeoning fellowship is full of young people yearning to be transparent before Jesus and sharing their deepest hurts. Many on … [Read more...]

The Hungry Beast Video on Gay/Post-gay Reality

Sennitt Family

First, here is the video. It's long (for an online video) but well done and interesting: My overall impression is that this is a very well produced video. Great camera shots, flow, narration and humanizing to all involved. The camera/editing didn't try to hide reality or characterize negatively. That said, Hadyn's testimony (the man on the post-gay journey) was interspersed in between the two gay men's testimonies (both named Anthony) at strategic points. This created an overall narrative which could leave an impression that if you don't reject a Christian post-gay approach in the … [Read more...]

Prodigal Ministries – A Skeptic Discovers Quite a Different Perspective

Excellent blog post by Steve Fuller. I say it is excellent because Mr. Fuller is honest and humble enough to challenge his own preconceived notions to press toward the truth of a heartfelt and difficult situation. Plus, I think it is excellent because Jerry Armelli, featured in the post, is awesome.  From Social Experiment #5: Prodigal Ministries: In 2009, I visited 52 churches in 52 weeks in order to reconnect with God and redefine my faith. In 2010, I am stepping outside of the church to connect with people. During the Social Experiment, I will experience 52 random encounters in 52 … [Read more...]

Worship Leader Danen Kane Experiences God’s Grace at Exodus

Danen Kane

Serving over the Exodus Events Department, one of my greatest joys is hearing feedback from conference guests who experience an Exodus conference for the first time. Recently, the North Central Regional ministries held their annual conference in Green Lake, WI. They invited musical artist, Danen Kane to join them as their worship leader at this year’s conference. Danen shares his experience at this Exodus Event on his blog …. Last weekend I lead worship for a conference in Wisconsin. The Conference was for a ministry called Exodus International. I really didn’t know a ton about … [Read more...]

Free Speech and Common Sense Wins In England

Randy Christine London

Lord Waddington has been championing free speech in England for people who do not hold the politically correct pro-gay ideological view and want to speak into the public discourse concerning the topic of homosexuality. Some were saying that there is a tolerance for free speech but many who do not hold a pro-gay view were being harassed and intimidated into silence. Last Monday Lord Waddington wrote the Times Online: Some might say it (his free speech ammendment) is so moderate that it merely states the obvious and is therefore unnecessary. But those who say that are closing their eyes to … [Read more...]

Called Out of Darkness – 2009 Exodus North Central Regional Conference Report

Wonderful report by Dave Rasmussen (emphasis Dave.) 2009 Exodus North Central Regional Conference The North Central Region has had a Regional Conference every year since I have been involved with Exodus since 1998. Q & A Friday – Witnessing Unconditional Love And Conviction

This post originally appeared on my old blog Everyday Thoughts Collected last November. I thought it would be good to bring it back online here. *** One of my fbff's (FaceBook Friends Forever) sent the following ... answer after the jump (edits mine for anonymity purposes.) ... I have a (friend) who is gay who I recently shared the gospel with ... I tried to be as sensitive as possible (just so you know, I did not imply that I assumed he wasn't a believer just because he was gay) and he responded very graciously as well. He says that he already knows what I'm talking about because he … [Read more...]

Q & A Friday – How Do I Tell My Gay Friends?

Q&A

"How Do I overcome my fear of telling my gay friends I am overcoming my same sex attraction and homosexuality tendencies? What can I say to them that won't sound like I'm personally attacking them." I want to spend some time laying groundwork here by sharing about my gay friends before and right at the time of my initial decision to pursue Christ's will for my relationships. I will also touch upon the fact that I do have people I consider friends who identify as gay in my life today. I left my gay identity and started questioning my gay defined worldview at the age of 24. All my friends … [Read more...]
