When these seasons start I usually try to employ my own gifts and talents to manage the turbulence. Then if that doesn’t work I begin to panic, spending hours thinking about what else “I” can do to get … [Read more...]

Love Won Out Rockford Illinois this Weekend

Love Won Out is this weekend! <-- The exclamation point denotes genuine excitement.  I have been to many of LWO's and am blessed at every one.  Here are a couple of examples of why: One parent, who recently attended a Love Won Out event, said, “God spoke to me about my need to show more love and acceptance towards our son who is gay and to trust Him to use this in my own life to grow me to be all He wants me to be.” After attending the event, one man wrote, “I came to the conference ready to give up, walk out of my marriage and pursue a gay lifestyle. The conference gave me hope … [Read more...]

Willa Medinger’s Family and Friends Celebrate Her Life Today

Alan & Willa Medinger

Spouses dying within a few months of losing their spouse is more common than one would think. Sadly, but it is a bittersweet sadness, this has happened again. Willa Medinger passed away last week on September 16th. She had a couple of strokes and was not doing well. This after, her husband Alan Medinger passed away this past June. I only had a few interactions directly with Willa over the years but she was wonderful each time. What I love about her is that not only was she very kind to me when I did speak with her ... I would always hear amazing things about her from other friends who … [Read more...]

Lean Summer, Generous God

partner

In June Exodus International hosted our 35th Freedom Conference in Irvine, CA and the 59th Love Won Out event. More than 1,100 ministry leaders, parents, pastors, and individuals seeking freedom in Jesus Christ came together for an amazing time of worship, teaching, and fellowship. As I look back, it wasn’t any one thing that stood out that made this conference spectacular. Instead, it was the fact that, all around, people were beaming with joy, hope, and the understanding that God is good! I could see it in the faces of those waiting in the lunch line, in the casual conversations that … [Read more...]

Asking Questions

question-mark-1

My son is in that stage of asking the same question over and over again. “What his name is?” is one of his favorites.  He especially wants to know all the names of superheros, kids at the playground, and animals.  I don't even know the names of the superheros, so I've had to get creative in answering.  I just recently discovered that if I asked him the same question he's asking me, he often knows the answer and will go ahead and answer it. We see in the Bible that God often asks questions. In the garden of Eden, God asked Adam and Eve where they were hiding- as if He couldn't see … [Read more...]
